What is an annual report?

How do we design non-profit annual reports?
Discovery
We begin by engaging your team to learn about your design vision, content needs, themes, and the format of your report. An interactive visual direction activity focuses on your unique design aesthetic, and brand guidelines are reviewed for alignment.
Report Concepts
Building on insight from the discovery activities, our team will get creative. We will explore various visual approaches and layout ideas to meet your needs through report concepts, including graphic approaches, colour palettes, typography, iconography and data visualizations. We will come together to share, refine and build upon a chosen concept that aligns with your report vision.
Content Development
Once the concept is approved, your nonprofit organization provides the content for the report, including any images or videos you wish to showcase.
Layout
This is where things get exciting! After thoroughly reviewing your content, we will organize it into effective page layouts, strategically arranging copy, media, iconography and data visualizations to showcase your impact and financial data and create a desired balance.
Feedback & Refinement
Your organization will have multiple opportunities to review the report and share revisions to bring it over the finish line. If the report is to be printed, we will help liaise with a printing partner, while digital PDFs or microsites will go through accessibility testing and QA. From here, it’s time to distribute and share your impact with the world.
